10 Jan Tread Lightly! to Participate in Annual SHOT Show
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (January 10, 2013) Tread Lightly! will be participating in the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show). The show is scheduled to take place January 15th – 18th at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We at the National Shooting Sports Foundation are excited to host the 2013 SHOT Show where Tread Lightly! will be one of many participants,” said Melissa Schilling, NSSF’s director of recruitment and retention. “The SHOT Show is the world’s premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics and related products and services.”
“NSSF has been a significant partner of Tread Lightly!’s since 2009,” said Lori McCullough, Tread Lightly!’s Executive Director. “NSSF’s SHOT Show is a great opportunity for Tread Lightly! to share the message of Respected Access is Open Access and to engage industry and individuals from the shooting sports community in treading lightly and supporting the nonprofit Tread Lightly!.”
Respected Access is Open Access is a multi-dimensional education and outreach campaign produced to maintain and enhance access to public lands for opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation. The campaign accomplishes this by addressing specific issues like litter, property or natural resource damage and unsafe or irresponsible behaviors.
The Respected Access campaign was created under the guidance of the Federal Land Hunting, Fishing and Shooting Sports Roundtable – a consortium of Federal and State agencies and some of the nation’s most influential organizations from the private sector like NSSF, National Wild Turkey Federation, Boone & Crockett Club, Dallas Safari Club and more.
Each day of the SHOT Show, Tread Lightly will be raffling off two packages with prizes from partners like Yamaha, WARN Industries and Goal Zero to those who sign up to be a member of Tread Lightly!. Those who make a donation to Tread Lightly! will receive a tin pint cup or water bottle. Participants who become a member will also receive a Tread Lightly! membership t-shirt.
Tread Lightly! is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to promote responsible recreation through ethics education and stewardship programs.
