27 Mar Tread Lightly! to Attend Easter Jeep Safari

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The first week of April, an entire team from Tread Lightly!, a national non-profit organization focused on fostering an outdoor ethic throughout the recreation community, is heading to Moab, Utah to participate in one of the biggest, if not the biggest annual four-wheeling events in America – the Easter Jeep Safari.  This year, the 9-day event takes place from March 31 through April 8.

“Tread Lightly! is excited to participate in this big event that thousands of four-wheelers attend each year,” said Lori McCullough, Tread Lightly!’s Executive Director. “Moab is an outdoor recreation mecca attracting hundreds of thousands of outdoor recreationists every year, especially four-wheelers and mountain bikers.  The Easter Jeep Safari is a great opportunity to reach people face to face, and remind everyone to travel responsibly, respect other riders and to do their part by treading lightly.”

During this high profile event, Tread Lightly! will be promoting special opportunities for involvement and encouraging four-wheelers to help in spreading the message of responsible recreation.  Those that officially join Tread Lightly! as a member at the event will be entered to win a gift certificate for a free set of tires from BFGoodrich Tires, a Tread Lightly! Official Partner.  We’ll have tons of swag, like water bottles, to give away to help promote the TREAD principles that people can share with their friends, families and four-wheeling buddies.

Tread Lightly! will also join forces with its newest Platinum Partner, Omix-ADA, the world’s largest independent manufacturer of Jeep parts and accessories. Starting Thursday, April 5, Drive Offroad, one of the members of Omix-ADA’s family of companies, will have a booth situated next to Tread Lightly! in the exhibit area located in the arena at the southernmost end of Moab. As part of its new partnership, consumers making purchases of more than $250.00 through the www.DriveOffroad.com site will receive a complimentary one-year membership to Tread Lightly!

In addition to the Tread Lightly!’s educational outreach, the organization will participate in a BBQ hosted by BFGoodrich Tires on Wednesday, April 4.^. During the event, BFGoodrich will announce three off-road trails chosen for its 2012 Outstanding Trails Program. As part of the program, each trail will receive a $4,000 grant intended for preservation efforts.
