Tread Lightly! Programs

Tread Lightly! relies on a variety of education and stewardship programs to achieve its mission of protecting recreational opportunities ethics education and stewardship. These programs past and present are funded by generous donations of our many program partners.

Tread Trainer
The Tread Trainer program is designed to train participants in innovative, practical methods of spreading outdoor ethics to the public with a curriculum specifically focused on motorized and mechanized recreation. Once a participant becomes active in the Tread Trainer program he or she is equipped to present the Tread Lightly! message to other educators, clubs, employees, visitors, enthusiasts or community members.
Road to Adventure
How do you reach outdoor enthusiasts to teach them to Tread Lightly!?  Find them where they play.  Tread Lightly!’s Road To Adventure program is designed to do just that.  The Road to Adventure trailer is packed full of Tread Lightly!’s free education materials, posters reminding you to “Ride Hard and Tread Lightly,” and other fun swag. The goal of the Road To Adventure program is to remind people to minimize their impacts on the land and other recreationists when they hit the trail.

Restoration for Recreation

By design, Restoration for Recreation generates capital from the private sector at a time when government recreation budgets are in intensive care on life support. Tread Lightly! and its partners match funding with public agency resources to rehabilitate dilapidated recreational facilities into environmentally and economically sustainable areas of beauty and enjoyment for generations to enjoy.

Corporations and organizations who are interested in these programs and other specific opportunities to support Tread Lightly!’s mission should take a moment to check out Tread Lightly!’s Wish List.
