OGDEN, Utah (October 10, 2011) -- The Western Governors’ Association announced the formation of a diverse group of experts to develop recommendations for strengthening the Western economy by growing the outdoor recreation and tourism sectors, and for connecting today’s youth to the many outdoor recreation opportunities the West has to offer. Tread Lightly!’s executive director, Lori McCullough, was appointed to the group on Friday.
 
AGENCIES UNITE FOR STATEWIDE CAMPAIGN ENCOURAGING RECREATIONISTS TO KEEP MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON TRAILS
OGDEN, Utah (September 28, 2011) — RIDE ON Designated Routes is a new statewide campaign that has united land management agencies to educate outdoor recreationists who use motorized vehicles on Utah’s public lands.
 
 
Outdoor Companies Unite Again for Large Tread Lightly! Charity Auction on eBay

In an effort to raise money for solutions to urgent outdoor recreation issues, more than 50 companies have donated at least 150 products to the nonprofit organization Tread Lightly! for its Fourth Annual Charity Auction on eBay, November 1-11.  Big ticket items this year include a Grizzly 550 ATV from Yamaha and a Gator XUV 625i utility vehicle from John Deere.

 
Tread Lightly! Launches Stewardship Grant Program

ParkFinder™ app. The app allows users to easily find parks and public lands throughout America, based on their favorite activities.

‘Respected Access is Open Access’ Campaign Addresses Litter

OGDEN, Utah (February 11, 2011) --- Tread Lightly! and a consortium of the nation’s most influential hunting and shooting sports organizations have released a new print public service announcement (PSA) encouraging responsible behavior on public and private lands while camping, hunting or enjoying any type of outdoor recreation.  The new PSA is another tool created for land managers and media outlets as part of the education and outreach campaign called “Respected Access is Open Access.”

 
Tread Lightly! Showcases Online Training Course

OGDEN, Utah (November 1, 2010) — The nonprofit organization Tread Lightly! is unveiling its innovative 101 Online Awareness course.   The short online course, initially developed in 2006, received a major overhaul this summer and is now geared to share the Tread Lightly! message of responsible outdoor recreation with a wider range of outdoor enthusiasts. 

 

 
Tread Lightly! seeking volunteers for project in Sumter National Forest
The nonprofit Tread Lightly! is seeking volunteers on Saturday, October 23 for an innovative new project in the Sumter National Forest.  The Enoree Ranger District has been selected as the epicenter of a national evaluation of a new campaign called “Respected Access is Open Access.”  Volunteers will be needed to remove litter and install important new signage.  All participants will receive free lunch and a t-shirt.  
 
Tread Lightly! to Hold 3rd Annual Charity Auction on eBay in Time for Holidays
(September 8, 2010)  Tread Lightly! will hold its biggest ever Annual Tread Lightly! Charity Auction on eBay November 1 -11, with more than 200 products donated from over 50 companies.  One hundred percent of the money raised will go to help keep off-road trails healthy and open to the public.  The big-ticket item this year is a brand new 2011 Grizzly 450 EPS ATV generously donated by Yamaha. John Deere has also shown its support by donating a Gator CX utility vehicle.  The auction also includes plenty of powersports equipment, 4x4 accessories, hunting supplies, and outdoor gear.
 
Tread Lightly! and Boy Scouts of America Form Partnership
OGDEN, Utah (June 16, 2010) — The nonprofit organization Tread Lightly! has announced a formal partnership with one of the nation’s largest and most prominent youth development organizations—the Boy Scouts of America.

National OHV Organizations Hold Land Use Forum in Conjunction with SEMA Show
Las Vegas, NEVADA (November 10, 2008) --- Leaders from ten national OHV organizations, including Tread Lightly!, met in Las Vegas on November 6 to discuss a variety of land use issues affecting OHV recreation. The meeting was held in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) annual convention.
